Tamarillo Jam

Tamarillo Jam

The tamarillo, also known as a tree tomato, has a sweet but tangy taste that makes it perfect for jam. The fruit is packed with vitamins and antioxidants that can deliver important health benefits. We opted to sweeten the jam with agave to offset the tart flavour, but sugar in the raw would work just as well.

8oz Mason Jar

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 Tamarillo

  • ¾ Cup Water

  • ¼ Cup Agave

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Slice each tamarillo in half and scoop out the flesh (similar to how you would handle a kiwi).

  2. Add fruit to a small saucepan with water.

  3. Simmer for 30 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally to ensure all fruit is broken up.

  4. Add agave and adjust to desired sweetness.

  5. Cool completely before transferring to a jam jar.
